Hello! My name is Christine Wicht. I’m an equestrian and artist who is an avid lover of mythology and ancient history.
I caught the artist bug at a very young age and I would spend hours sprawled out on my grandma’s carpet drawing and crafting till my neck started to hurt while watching endless hours of Disney movies and Animal Planet documentaries. After being exposed to shows such as “Tutenstein” and “The Book of Virtues” I slowly began to develop a taste for anthropology and archaeology. It wasn’t long afterwards that I also started my first riding lessons.
As I progressed through public school, I fell into the mindset of I needed to grow up and study to “get a real job”; because according to my interoperation of society, horses and art are not jobs. By the time I got into college, I had lied to myself to the point that I thought I was going to be a biology major who would later pursue marine biology. Halfway through my freshmen year, I quickly discovered that I did not have enough passion or interest for a biology degree; not to mention I was failing miserably in chemistry and statistics. Come the next half of the semester that year, I decided pull out of the biology program and take some art classes in order to “clear my head”. That same week I switched my major to art and I never looked back. I rediscovered a long buried passion that I had suppressed for years. Once I graduated I lost my way again for a while, I was standing there with a degree in my hand thinking “great, what now?”. For the next four years I focused on my equestrian side and taught riding lessons at an established riding academy.
While I was a riding instructor, an idea started to take root, and I made a sketch. It became a pet project that I dappled at a little at a time over about 2.5 years. I started to treat it like my own personal brand and I added touches like my own horse’s profile and my family’s crests to the image. I kept incorporating my passion of horses and mythology into the design, and eventually, Mythical Equestrian Art Studio’s logo was complete. I began to study and sketch more and more ideas, once again rekindling that creative fire that I had let fizzle out. Once I felt I was ready, I quit my job as a riding instructor and officially launched my business, Mythical Equestrian Art Studio, LLC
In Loving Memory…
Sadly, my sweet Arabella that had been my friend and companion for over 15 years passed away not long after my logo was finished. Her memory and image will forever be immortalized.
